Professor Urushihara visits CORS and the Pharmacovigilance Research Group

As part of the strategic cooperation efforts in health, Prof. Hisashi Urushihara (Keio University, Tokyo) visited the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences on March 12, 2019.

Prof. Hisashi Urushihara visited our Faculty to explore collaboration opportunities in the field of pharmacovigilance and drug regulatory science. Prof. Dr. Marie Louise (Marieke) De Bruin presented the activities of the Copenhagen Centre for Regulatory Science, whereas Prof. Dr. Morten Andersen presented the Pharmacovigilance Research Group. In addition, prof Urushihara presented the latest developments from his research lab in Drug Development and Regulatory Science.

Several areas of common interest were identified, including ‘incentives for paediatric drug development’, ‘adverse events associated with inappropriate prescribing in the elderly’ and ‘application of deep learning techniques to identify safety signals’. These will be further explored and form the basis for potential future collaborations.
